Bonny Spencer

Hello, my name is Bonny Spencer, I am an elder among the indigenous community of Treaty 6 territory. Over the last 40 years, I've been active in the community, taking part in ceremonies and helping educate others on our culture and traditions. One of my biggest passions in life is advocating for those who come from difficult situations. I believe it's important to support one another in the community and come together to heal and guide each other into a brighter future.

Lynda Spencer

Hello, my name is Lynda Spencer. I've been a part of the Indigenous community for over 30 years now, taking part in ceremonies and keeping some of the oldest  traditions alive in my day-to-day life. One of my biggest passions in life is to empower women and educate our youth. I believe a key part in growing is having a healthy foundation, a healthy community to thrive in. I've taught my children to always look to each other as well as our culture for guidance and support and I want to share and encourage those teachings with others as well.

Maya Spencer-Perez

Hello, my name is Maya Spencer-Perez, I am one of the volunteers at the Stony Plain Public Library. Alongside my Kookum and Mother, I have taken part in the indigenous community for 20 years. Volunteering has always been one of my strongest passions, I have always felt the need to help others and find new ways to take part in the community. I've always believed that there is no small role when it comes to being a part of a community. One of my missions as well as my family's is to encourage growth and welcome others into our community and create a safe place for questions and teachings.

Our family's goal is to bring culture and traditions to our younger generations and we have worked with all ranges of ages to raise awareness for MMIW and Every Child Matters. We strive to be inclusive and welcoming to all nations around the globe and allow others the opportunity to learn and to grow with us. Our family maintains a traditional parenthood in raising our children in a safe and diverse household to allow everyone to lead their own path when they are ready. We hope to have the opportunity to share our culture with you, join us in learning about our 7 sacred teachings and more.
