Barbara Scott is Nehiyaw (cree) originally from Cross Lake, Manitoba and has been living in Spruce Grove for the past 13 years and was up north in Fort McMurray for 13 years. She is fluent in Cree Language and is passionate about keeping the language alive. She is currently working at SGPL as Indigenous Knowledge Keeper, wants to preserve the language by teaching others through story telling and using puppets to encourage children especially to learn the language.
