FOIP Guidelines

Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIP)

Your name and contact information are collected under the authority of section 33(c) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. We make every effort to ensure the privacy of our patrons, particularly patron registration and borrowing records. For that reason, we require that each patron's individual library card be presented for access to any patron record.

We require your personal information for contacting you when:

a) Material you have requested is available

b) Material is overdue or lost.

The only time we send our membership information beyond the TRAC library system is when a patron:

a) Requests an item from a library outside of the Regional system. Your name and phone number will be sent to The Alberta Library Interlibrary Loan System.

b) Owes the library over $50.00 in lost/overdue charges for an extended period. We then send your name and contact information to a collection agency.

If you have any questions about the collection of your personal information, contact Robert McClure at or call 780-963-5440 ext. 101
